Final Fantasy XIV Stormblood Expansion Victim of a DDoS Attack (FF News 6/16/17 to 6/23/17)

Final Fantasy XIV Stormblood expansion had a special Early Access period prior to the official launch on June 20th. People that preordered the game were able to play it for a total of four days before the game’s real launch. Well from June 16th the game’s servers in North America have been suffering from a DDoS attack as confirmed by Square Enix on their official website where they issued a statement acknowledging the problem. Apparently a third party has been attacking their servers causing players to be disconnected from the servers. Square Enix mentioned that whenever they try to fix the problem that the third party doing this targets another area and is constantly changing the focus of their DDoS attacks so its causing massive headaches for them but they are hoping to fix it soon.

As of June 20th and 21st these problems are still ongoing. Hopefully Square Enix manages to fully fix these issues they are having and players are able to play and experience the Stormblood expansion they purchased without any problems. They will probably update their blog when all issues are resolved so be on the lookout.
