This past week a rumor surfaced which leaked a number of upcoming Final Fantasy Square Enix titles for 2017. These are all rumors of course and have not yet been confirmed so take all of this with a grain of salt.

Apparently 2017 will be the 30th Anniversary of the Final Fantasy series and Square Enix plans on celebrating the franchise with a bunch of games.

Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 1 will release in 2017 and Final Fantasy XII Zodiac Age HD Remaster will come in 2017 and these will be the big titles they will be pushing.

Then they plan on releasing a Final Fantasy XIII Trilogy for PS4 at 1080p and 60fps.

Lastly the biggest reveal is that there is going to be a Final Fantasy 30th Anniversary Collection featuring Final Fantasy I-IX for PS4 and PS Vita and all the games will fit on 1 disc/1 cartridge. Apparently they will include original versions of the game and upgraded modern versions of the game. So the SNES original version of FF4 with the PSP updated version as well. The collection will have in game art gallery and sound test.

There will be 3 versions of the collection

A standard version with just the gamse and a poster.

A collector’s edition which has the games, poster, artbook, black mage keychain, chocobo plush and two music discs with selected music by Nobuo Uematsu.

Lastly a Crystal Complete Edition. It will be only available in limited quantities in the Square Enix’s website for PS4. Crystal Complete Edition will include:

  • Games: Final Fantasy 30th Anniversary Collection titles (FF I to IX), Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD, Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age, Final Fantasy XIII Trilogy, Final Fantasy XV (and all DLC), Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn (including all expansions + a 3 month subscription). Special items for Final Fantasy XI Mobile and Final Fantasy XIV will be included as well.
  • Physical items: all the content included in the Collector’s Edition, two extra discs for the soundtrack, a crystal necklace, a Moogle plush, a Black Mage statue, all three Final Fantasy Trading Card Game starter decks, Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children, Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV and Brotherhood: Final Fantasy XV. Everything will be packed in a luxury chest decorated with the Final Fantasy logo.
Hopefully in the next few months Square Enix will release more information to either confirm or deny these leaks and rumors.

That sounds amazing. I just got a PS4 and was disappointed that no older FF titles were on the PSN. I have only beaten FF5, FFVII and FFT. I wanted to go back and beat the other games before purchasing 15.
